About Montana Custom Quilts

Brigitte graduated from Bigfork High School in 1983 and attended Montana State University from 1981 – 1984. After raising her two sons, she went back to complete her Social Sciences degree from Washington State University in 2010. After graduating she returned to the Flathead Valley and attended Flathead Valley Community College where she earned her Small Business Management degree in 2017.

Brigitte met her current husband Brian in Kalispell and they were married in 2011. Together they decided to turn her passion for quilting into a business and started Montana Custom Quilts, LLC in 2016. Together they have traveled the U.S. and visited numerous quilt stores and quilt shows in order to gain a sense of where they wanted to focus their attention on. Brian and Brigitte have created numerous custom quilts together, and have entered quilts in the Northwest Montana Fair then past three years, where they have won first place in their division every year. Brian is directly involved in the designing process as well as color selection for each quilt.

Brigitte is a Certified Quilter for Ryan McKenna as well as a Certified Teacher for Laura Heine’s collage technique. She teaches locally as well as regionally. She also provides private lessons. She has received training directly from Handi Quilter and does professional machine quilting on her long arm.

Montana Custom Quilts, LLC is a member of the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce, Artists and Craftsmen of the Flathead, as well as Made In Montana certified.
